I began taking lessons with Kathleen when I was 12 and was not completely sure of my musical abilities. Before I knew it, I considered myself a full-fledged musician. Over the past five years, she has helped me develop my singing skills, my piano playing abilities, my songwriting techniques, both the basics and advanced parts of music theory, and so much more. She has recorded plenty of my songs, which have allowed me to critique myself and then improve even more. She helped guide me through the stressful process of applying to colleges as a music major by aiding me with both my portfolio and my essays. Without her,

I would not have known that music was truly my calling. With her, I was able to get into all of the schools I applied to with ample scholarships. Kathleen is patient, kind, understanding, encouraging, firm, and cares so deeply about her students. She is clearly very happy with her life and loves teaching with all her heart. We've been blessed and lucky enough to be working with Kathleen for about 7 years. She is uber talented, multidimensional and so great at encouraging and cultivating young talent. Our daughter has grown soooo much with Kathleen's help. At first she learned piano performance and musical theory, from the age of 6 onward, where Kathleen laid the foundation for great development both in performance as well as theory and technique.

 

Then, as our daughter matured and broadened, in both her performance skills and musical talents, Kathleen helped encourage confidence and musical expression - such that our daughter now is even more enriched with abilities that make her and all of us so proud. After years of piano instruction, we modified our plans to include lessons with Kathleen for voice - as our daughter further developed her musical competencies and abilities. Kathleen is so well-rounded and great at what she does - she encourages individual talents - like new found voice skills, along with coaching our daughter in a variety of ways.

Lastly, it's really important to note that Kathleen helped our daughter with prep for an important audition - that worked out beautifully in that our daughter made it into the top 5 in her vocal section. We are tremendously grateful to Kathleen for all that she shares and has done to develop our daughter... And don't even get me started on how cool and talented Kathleen herself is - when you meet her you'll be amazed at how humble she is for the tremendous skills she possesses and shares.
